Dear Lana,

I would like to thank you very much for coming along and doing the Lake Daniells tramp with the class. I would also like to thank you for transporting me, Summer and Finn to the Lake Daniells walk. I would also like to thank you for all the help and support you did. I really appreciate you coming along.

The things I really enjoyed on the tramp was the blue water that was amazing, the really cool scenery when we were high up, the view of the lake was really cool and the hut was a really cool place. The walk was an amazing walk over and back which i really liked and I bet you did to.

Once again I would like to thank you very much for coming along to the tramp. Next time we do a tramp I would love you to come. I really enjoyed you coming on this tramp and again thank you very much.

Kind Regards, Jack

Holiday Park Ages

Mathematics. We are learning to plan and conduct investigations using the statistical enquiry cycle:
- determining appropriate variables and data collection methods;
- gathering, sorting, and displaying multivariate category, and time series data to detect patterns, variations, relationships and trends;
- comparing distributions visually;
- communicating findings, using appropriate displays.

We will have met the success criteria when we
  • Develop an understanding of how to use a tally chart and a frequency table.
  • Use a spreadsheet to record our tally / frequency data.
  • Correctly develop a graph or chart using a spreadsheet programme. (Google Sheets)
Develop a clear statement based on our graphed data and share our learning on our learning blogs.

Statement

The most popular age group is 9 - 11 because they have 10 and that's the highest. The lowest is 15 because there is only 2. The reason that there is only 2 15 year olds because holiday parks are meant for younger kids. The reason 9 - 11 is the most popular because mainly if you are younger you can’t use as much equipment and some other things like playgrounds are short so it's harder for older kids.

Weta Poem

Weta Poem
Tree weta,
brown body and giant legs,
climbing around the pohutukawa tree,
searching for food,
foraging for something to help him last through the night,
Something is lifting up his nose,
a pohutukawa leaf,
He starts munching on the delicious nutrition.

He finishes,
a stoat slowly approaches him,
he attacks,
the stoat wounds him,
he bites the stoat,
Stoat gives a high pitched squeal, it leaves.
The weta,
Slightly wounded,
Edges it way slowly home,
Then he rests,

For he knows, he will need it.
